Well...Sydnie Clare surprised us a day early last Thursday morning and it's been a whirl wind around here since and we couldn't be happier!  She's doing wonderful in her new home.  Here's a couple images we were able to get on Wednesday before she woke up and caught me taking photos.  She's either going to love or hate the camera one day =)  So, without further ado...my baby girl

HAPPY NEW YEARS EVE!  I've been hoping for about 7 months that we would have a new years eve baby and it's not looking likely although after going to the doctor yesterday, I am 1 cm dilated. maybe a new years day baby... fingers crossed.  As I stay warm inside though, I'm getting a little stir crazy and armed with a camera.  So, here's my morning

"My bags are packed, I'm ready to go..."  ♫

But it's warm.  I also cannot wait to start calling her by her name and it's no longer a surprise!  Until then (and hopefully sooner than later) everyone enjoy your New Years celebrations and stay safe!

Pam Brulez:

How did your last appointment go? I think 1-11 would be a good birthday since you missed New Years. What's McGee say?

We don't have the entire room done yet but we did finish the bedding and I LOVE it!  Can't wait to see the curtains and for some reason I'm really excited about the diaper stacker and changing pad cover which arrives on Wednesday...  So, here's the crib from Grandma and Grandpa, the bedding from Nana, and the cutest hippo from Aunt Kelly!

So, being pregnant, I'm thinking food more often than usual and we made a new recipe a couple days ago that was delicious and healthy!  I think I found it in a Parenting magazine, but not sure.  It's called Shell Surprise.

shells & ricotta.jpg

SHELL SURPRISE
16 Jumbo pasta shells
2 Cups of broccoli
15 oz of skim ricotta
1/2 Cup skim mozzarella
2/3 Cup Pasta Sauce

Cook 16 jumbo pasta shells, drain and rinse with cold water.  Microwave broccoli for 2 minutes.  Mix together the ricotta cheese, 2 Cups broccoli, and 1/2 Cup mozzarella.  Spoon mixture into shells and place on a baking dish.  Top each with pasta sauce and more mozzarella cheese if desired.  Bake uncovered for 15 minutes.

After making this the first time, I think I would have put just a little pasta sauce in the mixture before spooning it into the shells also.  Or, maybe even sun-dried tomatoes.  Either way, it was still super easy to make, delicious and healthy!  Hope you enjoy!

Also, with the flu season up ahead, I heard on the news that some foods can help ease your flu symptoms as well as ward it off all together.  Those include sweet potatoes, raw almonds, garlic, ginger root and plain yogurt.  Stay healthy this year!

Gavin's first birthday on Sunday complete with a pirate theme was so unique and adorable!  It was like Christmas with all the gifts and great food.  He wasn't as interested in the clothes just yet but he definitely loved the car!  Kristi always knows how to throw a party and makes it look easy even though she's 7 month pregnant.  Happy Birthday Gavin!!!

Janet Dionne, mother of the bride:

These pictures are so cute, Michelle's shoes remind me of Dorothy's ruby slippers. The barn shots are also very unique, I can't wait to share them with her Grandma.

Kristy:

I'm amazed at the shots heather can get even through all the TOTAL CHAOS!!

Cute subjects make it too easy!

Pat Menzel:

Grandma's old barn was a great backdrop for the photos. I can't wait to see the rest of them. It was a lovely country wedding.
