A gorgeous Kansas City day for a gorgeous Kansas City Bride.  Saturday really pulled through and I was so excited to photograph Morgan and Jeff again.  We started at the Embassy Suites in Kansas City where Morgan and her bridesmaids were getting ready and putting on the finished touches for the day.

Kansas-City-Bridal-Portrait-01.jpg

Kansas-City-wedding-ring-01.jpgWe then headed to The Villa in Kansas City to meet up with Jeff for the first time and start our day together.  The Villa was beautiful inside and out and Candace was an amazing coordinator.  There was plenty of natural light and the decor was so perfect for photography.  But, my favorite part was the patio with the overhead lights.  I want to be able to go chill there on a Thursday night with a quiet dinner.  And, the dinner would be amazing too.  All the food was made there from scratch!  yummy.

Kansas-City-The-Villa-01.jpgI loved the cream decor throughout and it made a perfect back drop for this wedding cake by Spectacular Cakes with flowers from Dutch Flowers.

wedding-cake-09.jpgWhile we were out taking some fun wedding portraits around the Kansas City Plaza area, we stopped by one of Morgan's favorite locations, the Nelson Art Museum.  The doors, the columns, the steps.  I can see why it's one of her favorite Kansas City spots and I love it too.

Ok. So the title of this post really comes from the best man speech...which may have been one of the best speeches I've ever heard from a best man at a wedding.  So, great job!  Amanda and Alex made wedding photography look easy!  Amanda has these gorgeous eyes and both are so photogenic right along with the entire wedding party.  I have so many favorite things about this wedding.  First, Amanda and Alex are high school sweethearts.  You should have seen their slide show at the wedding reception.  It was like watching them grow up together.  Second, they had their ceremony and some wedding portraits taken on the Hill in St. Louis. The ceremony was at St. Ambrose Catholic Church. I love this area.  It has such history and charm...just like these two!  And, for the Sandwich King... we went to Alex's family business, Gioia's Deli, right after the wedding ceremony to begin our photography escapades which ended at their reception in Forest Park at the Clubhouse.  Third, while we were in Forest Park, Alex and Amanda boarded a canoe in the fountains at the Grand Basin very spontaneously.  It was a fabulous wedding day.  Some favorites,

Mexico was so fun...I just want to go back.  I think I could live on a beach easily.  This would be my view/office/patio.

Syd loves the water and I think she would enjoy it...and of course we need Johnny!

Johnny is a diver so these are for him...I keep telling him they don't have enough dive shops in the world.

Scott & Lindsey got married yesterday! eee!  I loved shooting their engagement session last year and these two were amazing on their wedding day too.  Lindsey was the cutest even while getting ready and she smiled from ear to ear all day long.  Scott and his family both adored her and how could you not!  Here's an example of how sweet and thoughtful these two and their families are... It was a sit down dinner and they not only made sure I had a seat, they also thoughtfully sat me with a perfect table...On the left was a sweet couple that were originally from central Illinois and he went to SIUC, same here.  On the right was a sweet couple whose daughter does forensic photography.  Across the table was another photographer that lives in North Carolina (and she was so nice!) and another couple who live about 5 miles from me in Kansas.  Thanks for sharing dinner with me!  Both Lindsey and Scott come from great families and friends and I was honored to share the day with them.  The ceremony was at the Shrine of St. Joseph and you can see the beauty of this place in some images below but I suggest going here at least once if you live in St. Louis.  The reception was at the Old Hickory Golf Club and the room and service were amazing.  Here are some favorites from the day.
